Cobra Rods are solid cylindrical rods combining boron and copper in a proven effective, safe and easy to use wood preservative, fungicide and insecticide.  Cobra Rods are installed in moisture-prone areas of logs and timbers where surface preservatives do not reach to prevent fungal decay (wood rot), termites, carpenter ants, various beetles and other wood-boring insects.  The copper provides additional protection from fungi not affected by borates.

Approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Cobra Rods are safe to use both indoors and outdoors, and are easy on the environment.  Cobra Rods are inserted into moisture-prone areas of logs or timbers by drilling a hole 1/16 inch larger than the diameter of the rod.  The surface opening can be filled with caulk or chinking.

Cobra Rods may be installed in damp wood as well as new or dry wood in areas that are more prone to moisture.  Since Cobra Rods are activated by moisture, when moisture levels are elevated, generally around 25%, Cobra Rods begin to dissolve and allow the preservative to migrate with the moisture where it is needed.
